MoodGecko is an online community that is all about where you are and how you feel, and about caring how others are feeling (that’s ‘geo-social moodsourcing’, in case you’re interested). Tell the world your mood. Then be supportive, be caring, and spread some joy to others. It’s a pulse check on the mood of the world, and an easy way to give a little gift of caring and happiness.

It is social networking made even easier.

Jump right into this positive, supportive community by registering your very own, unique GeckoId. Once you have your GeckoId tell the world where you are, (that’s the ‘geo-social’ bit – please do check out the personal safety features built into the app), and what mood you are in, (and that’s the ‘moodsourcing’ bit, which I’m sure you guessed). Then move across to the Mood Radar and see how others are feeling around you, or in another country. If you spot someone who is feeling a bit down, send them a virtual hug. Watch the mood of the world change over time, and by location.

We will be enhancing the app to bring you many exciting new features as the community grows. Groups and Friend-lists are currently in development and should be ready for the next release to enable you to build or join a controlled community within a community. But for now, get out there and scatter some happiness, and don’t forget to invite all your friends to join in. The more people using the community, the more fun and effective it will be, and the more features we will be adding !

The cost of development work is being supplemented by the use of ads within the app.

Also, we’d love to hear from you. Please tell us what you do and don’t like about the app, and let us know if you have any suggestions for what you’d like to see in future releases. We have a long list of ideas already, but it would be great to hear from you so that we can prioritise the stuff you really want. It is our ambition to create a happy community.
